I'm going through a very difficult time right now. Guy who I thought was going to be my first healthy, stable relationship dumped me after a month and I'm still recovering from the heartbreak. Healing myself is even harder because we see each other on a day to day basis (we are roommates) and try to remain friendly. It used to get better and better day by day to a point where I thought "Wow, I think I'm almost over it!". Jokes on me, today was a horrible day. Out of seemingly nowhere I woke up and just cried from morning to evening and the thought of ever being "okay" again seems super distant and unreachable.

I thought that maybe it would help me if some of you could tell me your "then vs. now" stories as in, times in your life where you thought:

  1. I'm never ever going to get over this or be able to let go.
  2. I will never meet a person again that is so interesting, kind, loveable and intelligent.
  3. I'm going to remain in an endless circle of short-term relationships and long-term heartbreak-revocery-phases.
  4. I am hurting so much and I can't handle the pain anymore.

versus the situation you are in now, where all of your anxieties and fears turned out to be wrong and you are confident, pleased with yourself and your life and maybe even in a healthy, serious relationship.

I think I received enough advice from my friends and women on the internet and I know what I have to do and where my values should lie. Now I just need a nice reminder, a silver lining that helps me stomach this awful day.

Sending you all lots of love.
