Lifelong career beta here and I am only one week into NMMG so very new but an issue came up last night that I know will be recurring and I need some skills to be able to handle it when it does. Wife was feeling mildy sick yesterday, nothing serious just stomach upset. She stayed alone home all day and after dinner I told her I was going to the gym. She had a sour look on her face and I just ignored it and went and did my thing. When I got home she was distant, I acted like I didn't care, did a few things and then went to bed. This morning just before I am leaving for work she says she really needed time with me last night and was surprised I left her (adult daughter was home also ). I tried to STFU and said ...maybe uh huh and waited.. Then said.. see I got no response from you when I told you that I needed you last night. That is when I went full beta and said I would take her out to dinner tonight..blah blah blah.. So what do I do when she calls me on not responding to her when I STFU? STFU more?? Do I agree and amplify? Any specific examples or advice is appreciated.
