I suspect that stat to be because most husbands have sacrificed most of their leverage, which I believe is common because it's what modern society trains them to do.

As a husband, like any leader, if we are employing our full leverage all the time, to get our way on everything, we are a brutal and just bad leader.

But in contrast, if we've divested ourselves of all leverage by choosing to never exercise any of it, then we have abdicated our leadership role.

Modern thought would have it that this is okay, because the husband and wife can be effective equal co-leaders. My wife is an astonishingly effective person, and handled it fine. But it did reduce her femininity, and it did reduce her attraction to me, and it was leading us down a sexless road to toward divorce.

I've found that regularly gently exercising the forms of strength that I bring to the relationship allows my wife to blossom in new ways which were suppressed when she was adapting to match me in the areas I (wastefully) insisted on sharing 50% responsibility with her.

tl;dr - Modern men take moderating their strength too far and thus lose their women. Part of what is taken too far is giving up the keys to the committment gate.

It would be like telling men- if you leave your wife and throw her into the street she still has to suck your dick on demand, make sandwiches, and pick up your house but you get to fuck whoever you want. Remember, women enter into a relationship with beta-bux as a provisioning strategy. "Yeah I rode a lot of cock in college and my 20's but, now I want a nice guy and the whole picket fence thing". Back in the early part of the century divorce had to be justified, ie someone did something wrong. If a man had a gross misconduct in his marriage, divorce could literally make a woman destitute. The other side was, if she did something wrong the man could get out without alimony. But liberalization in the latter part of the last century, no-fault and women moving into the work force has perverted this.

It's legalized branch swinging. Now you have modern woman, and she thinks her shit don't stink. Her friends tell her, YOLO and the like and that she deserves better. She should go out and find herself and get a real man. Reality is, she's just entered the market with a major mark against her, because who wants to date a divorce or worse a single mom.

Just think of the possibilities if it was the other way around. What would the world look like if you got caught cheating that divorce would only result in legal separation? No penalty or wage garnishment? What if I could cheat on my wife all I wanted and all she could do is leave? Oh wait, it's called not getting married.

Maybe it's down to the definition of commitment, or more precisely, the women's present moment interpretation of whether she's happy with the commitment she's got. If she's got a much better offer, or if you are "just not doing it for her", maybe that would be enough. Also, divorce proceedings tend to be more favorable to women in terms of settlement, so it would make sense that women would initiate divorce more often.

I suspect - but I have no proof, it's only a sneaking suspicion brewing in my mind - that divorce spreads like a virus.

One woman divorces her husband for whatever reason. Maybe it's infidelity, maybe she's finally sick of him being a career beta.

Anyhow, she does this, and obviously she stays in touch with her friends (who are all married) while she's doing it.

To a woman, they all notice the same thing:

He moves out. She stays where she is.
He winds up paying for her mortgage/rent.
She keeps the kids. He sees them for a few hours a week. And he babysits them occasionally during the week if she's hungry for cock but doesn't want to introduce the kids to her new man.
She gets a new boyfriend but her ex continues to subsidise her lifestyle. Ostensibly, it's all done "for the chilldruuuun!", but it's not like they can live in a nice big comfortable house without her doing so at the same time.

Looks like a pretty sweet deal. From this point, it's only a matter of time before the more beta husbands find themselves served with divorce papers.
