Was reading a post that sounded relatively similar to my situation and a line in this comment by Chad got me thinking about my wife: https://www.reddit.com/r/askMRP/comments/8pcdn0/drunk_captain_type_2_questions/e0a3vu9?context=1

My wife's parents divorced when she was 5. Her Dad was in an accident, leaving him as nearly a veggie when he was 8. Mom remarried super beta (great dude, she adores him obviously) when wife was 9. They divorced around 12. She married workaholic (does exactly what he wants when he wants, it's usually running his multi-million $ welding biz), stoic, man's man when wife was 14. Wife hated him, wife still doesn't like him.

I have never tried to reverse engineer her psych problems. The definitely exist... is there a general thought as to what the above experience with father figures might result in?
