- Still getting hard no's. The other night, I walked back in anlittle later and said, "I should make this clear, because I dont think I have. I want sex to be a part of our relationship. And I expect it. " Then briefly described that I want and expect for it to be frequent, fun, etc. Told her I realize she has several years of bad experiences here to draw, but I am changing myself and she knows that.
Her response: "I just don't feel sexy or attractive at all right now". Background is she has always struggled with body image issues. Maybe its the same amount as every other girl, I don't know, but it seems like more than the average to me. For the first time in her life, at 34, she is really struggling to lose baby weight from our recent child. She doesn't even like when I see her naked. "Maybe if you just told me you think I'm pretty more often". She has said this now after the last two hard no's.
I know the initial response here --- you're not attractive enough. Become more attractive, etc. I get it, and I'm working on it. Self judging, I am the most attractive I have ever been in our relationship. Aside from getting more attractive myself, what do I do with this test from her? The old me would just commit to telling her I think she's pretty every day. Maybe that's still the right answer, and it brings me to my second question.
- Rollo's Cardinal Rule of Relationships
In any relationship, the person with the most power is the one who needs the other the least.
Chateau 's 16 Commandments of Poon
V. Adhere to the golden ratio Give your woman 2/3rds of everything she gives you.
Here's what I don't understand. I'm trying to move our relationship forward, and pull us out of the roommate/deadbedroom situation we were(are) in. I'm trying to lead in doing this, which means initiating, 10 second kisses, kino, etc. I believe it is my responsibility to lead in this, but I also believe in the power and truth of the axioms above. How do I reconcile this? In other words, right now, if I only give her 2/3rds of what she gives me -- no one is initiating sex, we are almost never touching or kissing, and there are few words of encouragement. How does continuing to initiate sex with OI, encourage her in her journey of weightloss and body image, foster physical intimacy, etc. fit into the principles above?
