There is an improvisation dance class I go to sometimes, I enjoy it since it is kind of playground for experiments in interacting with women in a purely physical manner I can't do almost anywhere else. This is very different from club dance and has more resemblance to mime or acting. (came out wrong, see edit)

At the end of last class, the teacher came to me and said I should be more sensitive not to cross the line with some women, giving me an example of a quite hot dance I had with some girl which I was 100% sure was consensual. We even exchanged a few words at the end of the class, saying it was fun.

When I asked him if anyone had actually ever complained about me he said that someone did in that class. There was a girl who I don't really like (a whiny Russian bitch) who I danced with a little as a part of a group exercise, and at some point she asked me to stop and I had no idea what exactly she wanted me to stop because I was fooling with her in a completely non-sexual way and there was not much touching.

I tried explaining to him that women are very well capable of saying "no", but that did not convince him of course. He said it is my responsibility to be sensitive, and if a woman is saying "no" this is already too late. I got angry at him (mistake) and told him I would not accept such ridiculous request and the fact that he would even suggest that I am making his class unsafe for women is something he should be ashamed of. I have been going to his classes for 4-5 years and he used to be somewhat of a friend. According to him, no one has ever complained bofore. He told me that I should either cool it or not come to the class.

I think there is a part of him that is jealous of the way I can bring myself with women, when he is afraid to do anything "insensitive" and he already told me in the past to cool my energies, even unrelated to women. We ended things with me saying to him what he asks is ridiculous and since the studio is not his he has no power issuing ultimatums. Saying this to him was also stupid but I was too angry. I like the class too much to let this jealous spineless beta to try to prevent me from enjoying it (and making it a lot of fun for most of the women who dance with me, who told me that in their own words!)

How do you think I should have handled it, and what can I do now?

EDIT: To me, those classes are not about groping or grinding on girls I can't get elsewhere. First, I really enjoy the purely dancing and moving part. Second: there is a big acting aspect to the improv, making it an opportunity to "play out" all kinds of scenarios that were harder for me to do in real life. Expressing all kinds of intentions (far from only sexual) in a way that both parties know it is a game. These games of pretending allowed me to break some big limitations I had outside the class, especially in my early RP days. Rarely there was a chemistry that lasted outside the class, but I had a few dates.
