Tom Ford cologne smells good. Just sucks that the guy Tom Ford is a soydrinker, so it's up to you if you want to support that.

I used to wonder who actually wears that axe shit, like no one falls for that type of commercial, lol.. For budget, Sauvage Dior, BLV by Bvlgari, Dolce and Gabbana pour homme

The BLV was my go to for years back in the day but has been reformulated.. Still really good and I keep in rotation (for nostalgic reasons) but have evolved to niche types

Buy a few decants until you find what you like.

(decants are small 1ml / 3ml / 10ml bottles. Plenty of online shops dedicated to selling them. You don't need to buy a full bottle).

YouTube reviews too.

Decants are £3 per 1ml. 1ml is 10 sprays. Enough to work out if it's for you.

Depends on your age / character.

I'd buy a summer one and a winter one.

Summer : Navus / Nio / aventus / Millesime imperial

Winter: Oud Wood / naxus / Black iris

These are ones that I like. Work out what you like.

Creed, Tom Ford, Xerjoff, Amouage, Initio, Dior - all interesting brands.

My approach is to wear something unique that I like. I prefer to buy a small amount of many rather than one big bottle.

English laundry Cambridge Knight is by far my favorite. You also cant go wrong with Armani Code. Versace Eros is very good too but not quite as manly as the others, still one of my favorites.

People might say wtf but yves st Laurent l’homme but I only recommend if you’re kind of a pretty boy. If you look like a roided up wes Watson I don’t recommend

I like the Cremo line. They're affordable (as in the 20-25 range) and many smell awesome. Assuming you're a younger guy, you might go for things like Spice and Black Vanilla or the Bourbon and Oak. Distiller's Blend (formerly known as Reserve Blend) is another really good one.

After experimenting a handful of fragrances, I finally settled with YSL - Y Edp. Three words describe the fragrance: clean, fresh, fruity

YSL y is expensive though. For low budget, I would buy Blue touch by Frank Oliver

My go to is Encre Noire by Lalique. It is a super masculine smell for a great price. Wouldn't wear it as an everyday though.

For an affordable everyday, I'd go with Yves Saint Laurent or Versace Eros.

I like Versace Eros and JeanPaulGaultier for clubbing/night life and Armani Acqua Di Gio for day time.

Sauvage is great for the night time but that many people wear it you risk smelling like a girl’s dad or brother - or ex.

Axe...well that's embarrassing lol. Just don't go too cheap cus then it'll just smell like alcohol (nautica for ex ) And dont use anything from an aerosol can ever again. You should be good with that advice. Look up fragrance blind buys for men on youtube or something similar.
