Cheerleader asks kid with autism to prom. Right/wrong?

You will never know if the gesture is genuine. If it genuine, that's awesome and that person is a genuinely good person who made what is hopefully a good memory for someone else. It could also just be a stunt to get attention or flaunt how much better they are than everyone.

Personally, I almost feel bad for the person that was asked because they gave you so much pity that they went with you. It's a gesture done out of pity/selfishness and not out of goodwill.

I would be pissed if some girl asked me on a date because of: how unattractive I was, a disability, or anything else. Don't give me your damn pity. Don't try and devalue me like that.

I had a mentally and physically disabled kid who went to my school. He actually took several decent looking girls to dances through getting them to like him. Imagine the fucking giant set of balls that took him? Some kid who has trouble walking on his own, speaks with a lisp, and is somewhat slow is approaching girls. Just had to share that since it relates to the topic. I know that most of the disabled people you are talking about are in a much worse state than him. I still wanted to share this since he is someone who to this day I consider to be an alpha mofo. He might not even know he's alpha but damn he gave no fucks.

Call me a cynic but I can't say I've honestly met a person who helps others in this way that is entirely selfless. There is some measure of self-gratification involved in actions like this. Unfortunately you can't make the actor own up to it without some kind of social blowback or otherwise impeccable frame.

The thought of her going at the prom with the mentally challenged guy to be then fucked with vigor by the quarterback after they bring the kid at home is somehow disgusting and sad to me.

i like to think of it as a nice gesture. i saw the video and it seemed very genuine. What i'm unsure of is how this girl acts, and if she will use it for social media attention in the future. That being said, the kid with autism will have the time of his life and that is all that matters in my opinion. The girl will go on and have great experiences throughout life, while this boy will remember it for his entire life. I respect it personally.

Well, the easy way to tell is if these two kids normally hang out on a regular basis outside of school. If they don't, it is blatantly wrong because the cheerleader is merely advertizing herself. It is a selfish act on her part. A lot of 90s and 2000s movies cover this in sometimes comical ways.

It's hard to speak to her specific motives and intent; it could be genuine, it could be an elaborate prank against the guy, or anything between.

at first I thought is was a nice thing to do. but immediately after I was like "I'll bet she's doing it for the likes". I will honestly be surprised if it's not plastered all over her social networks with people praising her for being such a great person.

I'm gonna say yeah she did it to look good. However looking at the body language she looks like a rockstar and the kid is thrilled.

We preach selfish man-woman dynamics, and I don't see why we should shame a high school cheerleader who looks out for her own interests first. The collatoral is one thrilled kid glad to be a part of prom.

I think it comes across as patronising and would immediately put someone on the defensive or make them suspicious, kind of like being given an undeserved compliment unless you're completely oblivious or narcissistic you know something is up.

I suppose the point of it is for the desirable person to show how moral they are and what a good person they are compared to others.

Even if it is genuine, you can't tell if it will help or hurt the ill person. It may give them false hopes, and turn them into little monsters, or, it may be a happy day in their lives.

Tough call, but, my vote is: always give them fun when you can, and let them deal with the consequences.

approach, BUT this is High school folks and I've said it before and I'll say it again, a lot, if not most of TRP's advice about female behaviour re: sexual attraction, i.e. hypergamy aren't really applicable to people in HS,

Peer pressure and local customs have more effect on one in HS, All TRP concepts for "Game" only begins after a girl puts herself in the 'sexual marketplace', (while HS is more a kind of club, than market)

TL:DR: This OP isn't realy RP relevant imo, kids in HS have a very different set of SMP values than those who have partied in The Real World. High School is just a 'dress rehersal' for Real Life.

If a girl had to refer to HS to either impress or maintain a discussion with me ... I must've made a huge mistake when I decided to game her in the first place!
