Tbh the rule of thumb is the more maths a degree has, the better career prospects it offers (STEM/accounting/finance/economics etc). If you aren’t looking to be a PhD, then social sciences and basically all other degress are worthless and will put you in debt.

If I were you, I’d go to trade school, start work at 20 yo and save money for my business.

The biggest reason I went to college u/shacosrc was because of patrilineal pressure. I was in a similar position where I was close to turning pro for my particular sport but was forced to give it up.

I hated my father then but now realise he was right. College was priceless because of the skills I picked up there. It’s not so much the knowledge; you can acquire that almost anywhere. But the skills; social and professional; and especially the networks have been invaluable.

That said you can acquire skills, networks and obviously the knowledge required for your goals almost anywhere else too. It’s just a lot easier in a place designed to encourage that growth.

The biggest mistake I made relating to college was not making my own decisions, I just did what my narcissistic father told me to. It was not a waste of time but it wasn't optimal.

Ask yourself who you want to be. A Mcdonalds register boy? A bartender? A car mechanic? A business owner? A chiropractor? A rocket scientist? CEO? If you have trouble, start by asking yourself what you want to have and more questions should follow from there. You may have to sit down and try more than once.

College is a means to an end, not an end in itself. It's cliche'd advice for a reason. You need to answer it. If you genuinely can't then do something that sets you up to make that decision later, but once you know your end game then you can pick out the steps and goals in between with efficiency.

Fuck the doubts and the reasons not to. Pick something you want. If you need college to get it, so be it.

What do you want to do? Where do you see yourself in 5/10/20 years? A good option could be an associate degree or trade school. There isn't necessarily an "easy" way to graduate with a valuable degree or every idiot would do it. In college it's a lot more difficult to just sit on your arse and do nothing and expect to have success.

Physics you probably won't need, but most (if not all) degrees will require some math as part of the "general education" requirements which often include things like math, English comp, phys Ed, a language, some form of humanities class, etc, etc, but these requirements can vary degree to degree. A lot of degrees also have a statistics course built in as well.

Edit: community colleges and university satellite campuses can be a great way to start. The classes are often smaller and much cheaper and usually have a pretty direct path for transferring credits to nearby major universities. This can be a really good way to do your first couple semesters on the cheap before going balls deep into student debt.

do your research on life navigation. tier 1 coder facebook google etc make 350k/year from their jobs. look up a competing youtube channel you like to emulate; resarch how much money they make.

starting your business is not easier than college, it's WAYYYY ahrder and more work. you don't even crack open your books, you sound lazy; maybe even self delusional.

If you had an actual plan in lieu of college I'd say sure, fuck it, but you think you're going to blow up on fucking youtube and have social media as a means of getting by in life (Who do you think you are, TRA?). It's ridiculous. I failed HS math and still graduated at the top of my class in college, it's not a deal breaker. Since you seem smart by your OP (Not putting in an ounce of effort but still batting above average), it's something you should seriously consider. Unless you're some kind of savant wrt a particular skill, HS diploma is the bare minimum you need to get by in life today. Is that what you want: Scrape at the margins until you die?

Join the military. Vast majority of jobs in the military are non-combat related and you’ll have high access to both fit prime pussy and free college after you get out if that’s what you want to do then.
