Go for it. On the off chance you need to communicate verbally there are excellent free translation apps. Just speak into your phone and it says it out loud in fluent French. And vice versa.

I fucked up cuz at some point of the night, I managed to isolate her. We were sightseeing the city and told her there's a cool church she must see using bodylanguage. She knew what's up and she came with me but I chickened out instead of going for the kiss.

Greet the girl with some basic French, "Bonjour. Comment ça va, chérie?" and she'll instantly realize you can't speak a word of French.

This is a great opportunity for you to practice non-verbal communication. Things like kino, escalation, body language, etc. are even more important now.

I read a post here a few months back about a guy who couldn't talk due to some throat illness he had.

He went to work and went to a meeting. Because he couldn't vocalize, he had to present himself physically and visually. He said that he noticed that people were more receptive to him when he expressed himself in this way and that he felt like his frame was at it's peak.
