I'm asking because I'm a junior in high school whom teachers have always described as "very bright, when he's not drifting off." I have never been diagnosed with a disorder, but given how high the stakes are grade-wise this year, my parents and doctor are discussing the possibility of a prescription for Adderall or other focusing stimulants. This idea appeals to me very much, because I am physically incapable of stopping myself from losing focus over long periods of time while in class or doing homework. However, I'm currently in the process of TRP self-improvement, which involves lifting, eating clean (for the most part), and generally adjusting my attitude and behavior. So, will these stimulants affect me in ways that are counterproductive to my physical and spiritual goals? I'm afraid that it will turn me into a hyper-focused accountant-in-the-making, but I'd continue taking it anyway because my academic potential would be crippled otherwise. Anyone have experience with these issues?
