The whole idea around "fake it until you make it" is that by adopting a goal-based attitude centered on progress you will naturally end up achieving more goals.

It's not about saying you're a CEO of a fortune 500 company when it's an outright lie. It's about telling yourself you're a capable person with a finance degree who's moving up the ladder quickly. When you project the goal-oriented winner mentality people begin to treat you like that type of person.

To extend the sexual marketplace analogy, your sexual value is subjective. If you're regularly getting a good deal (AF) you won't settle for a bad one (friendzone).

If you act like you're worth a million Fucks a few girls are gonna buy into it and guess what you're now valued at a million Fucks. If you talk yourself down and don't believe in your own fuckability index good luck getting past a handy.

So know your product and be realistic to yourself about it. Know your bottom line to break even. Know the value of your own time. Talk to the folks at R and D about the next software patch. Get real.

And when you go to town and you're selling remember to Bluff and negotiate. Keep information to yourself. Guard the blueprints. Don't be too rigid, you still gotta close.

If you've gotta really hot product, less is more. Undersell a bit, but keep the price high and very casually walk quickly. Your opportunity cost is high.
