So I'm currently in my mid 20s and I've always had trouble building a real, strong platonic relationship with other males.

Since I was young, I've been prone to getting nervous and "in my head" when meeting new guys, while I can be the life of the party when I'm with girls. By reflecting, I see that I'm more willing to act silly and childish with females (which helps me with lays a shit ton) but get pretty tense and more serious with males and have a harder time letting go and being myself, especially when sober.

Is anyone else going through a similar issue? I'm trying to break this down intellectually so I can find the root of the problem and start chipping away at it. Would appreciate any feedback on how any of you deal with this. Maybe it's an intimidation factor? competitive anxiety that results in me being stiff and hyper aware around other males? I really just wish I could just let go of ego and put my guard down with other guys so I can just joke around, connect and create lasting friendships...
