A girl I've been seeing (already nexted, I'm not seeking advice dealing with her specifically, I need general advice) sort of cancelled on our date because she was going to see a movie with her friend. I say sort of because she said she was free that day and I took it upon myself to pick the time which didn't work for her.

This is the second time she has something else to do and cancels the date (first time was an assignment she had or whatever, today I just didn't want to put up with her bs), so this is the conversation that went on:

Me: "Meet me at 7 at [bus stop name], we'll go downtown"

Her: "I can't come I'm going to the movies with a friend"

Me: "Tell them something came up, they'll understand"

Her: "Lol that's mean"

Me: "Not if you do it right, I'll see you at 7"

Her: "I can't cancel on my friend"

Me: "But you can cancel on me, bravo"

Her: "I didn't you randomly wanted to hangout and I wasn't free..."

She had told me she was free that day two days earlier, at this point I knew I was more invested that her and I decided to end things

Me: "I told you on Monday and you said today was okay, anyhow logistics bore me. No harm no foul, but we can't see each other anymore, good day"

My last message, did it come off angry/needy/dramatic? In the future, should I just leave it at that and not talk/text again?

Thanks guys.

Edit:

Thank you everyone for your responses.

Lessons learned:

  1. I fucked up, overreacted, came off as needy

  2. Get a specific time commitment in advance

  3. If responding will not get you closer to your goal, no response is a valid response
