Wow. She outright told you that she was keeping it hostage. First thing to consider is it even worth getting back? Are these items you can't simply let go? If you choose this route, I'd say just drop contact. Don't say "You know what? Keep it." Because she is using your possessions as bargaining chips.

If you absolutely need your stuff back, I'd just try to set up a window with an excuse. "Uh, okay. But I'm headed to a friend's/work/party/event." Then just get your hands on your stuff as fast as possible then dip.

You own your stuff. Your stuff owns you. She owns you by owning your stuff, if you can't just let it go.

Don't do it. You underestimate how much an ex can really pour on the emotions. You come in, she starts crying, you feel bada want to comfort her (she looks like she is in pain)... she starts kissing you on your cheek: "I miss you baby please come back to me, I'll do anything for you" and starts kissing you on your neck, holding you tight, whispering in your ear "please baby I'm sorry" and starts unbuttoning your pants...

lol if any of what I typed affected you, you are in trouble if you go over there. You ever watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall? It'll sort of be like that.

Just had to finish getting some furniture from my last relationship almost a month and a half after NC. Fortunately, she's out of the country and her brother let me in - but I hear you. It's not a fun situation.

If you are so dumb as you think you need that worthless junk, fine, stop by to get it. But for the love of Zeus, do not go in. Stay outside, even if she invites you in. Going inside is a bad idea, and suggests you are willing to stay. You are not willing to stay. Just ask for your stuff and remain at the door. When she insists you talk, you reply, "About what?" Listen to her reply, and then say, "I just want my stuff. I don't want you any longer. My stuff, please, right now."

If she bawls, screams, stares, whatever, you have no reaction and do not move off the front door. Just stare at her. If she refuses, you say, "For the last time, please retrieve my property and return it to me." If she won't, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! She is escalating and trying to force something. She would rather have any reaction than no reaction and you need to get out. Her search for drama could end poorly for you.

Contact your sherrif's department. They will send a deputy to meet you at the property to get your stuff back. Honestly this is the best option to avoid a possible domestic violence charge against yourself, since she seems like a crazy one.

If you don't want to go that route, I'd suggest meeting in a public place.
