I have a question about dealing with roommates who don't take care of their shit. We all have allotted jobs, like dish duty, clean the house, get rid of the garbage, etc.
We do all these things in turns. Problem is my roommates are extremely irresponsible; I was out of town for three days and no one cooked,no one did the dishes, no one cleaned. They didn't have anything really important to do; they just didn't do it. That's the general trend. Work doesn't get done. I have to give gentle reminders at first, then more frequent ones.
Problem is they don't do their shit, and then when I tell them to get that shit done pronto they get mad as though it's my fault for pointing out that they didn't do the work.
I'll be honest: pigs would be ashamed to live in my house. I do a lot of extra work picking up after them but it's never enough.

I am ashamed to invite people over because the house looks disgusting. I'm getting tired of making inspirational speeches yo get work done around here.
Last time I tried to set a common cleaning time over the weekend two almost flaked and frankly it's getting annoying.
Seems to me the best recourse is to let it go. I'm on a lease with them for a couple more months.
Do you guys have any other suggestions?
