These are future plow horses for society. They will get chewed up, spit out, cucked and divorce raped. Some of them will come to TRP after their life goes to shit. Others will become alcoholics and self destruct.

I used to be an SJW (gay rights and female equality) so I get it. You don't actually believe these things, you say it because it feels 'enlightened' and gives you virtue signaling points. You're chasing a self-mastabatory high. You get to 'fight' against something by inventing a punching bag that didn't exist like those losers that wear shirts that say "Beat the hell outta hate". You don't actually examine these beliefs and test their validity. You're not defending women or gays, you're defending the faux world view/identity you've created because it provides good feelz. You're defending the feelz. If you examine or question these views, you threaten your source of good feelz.

It's an excuse to exert power over others as you experienced. Many people are looking for any circumstance where they can interrupt or talk down to others because they get a moment of control.

It gives a sense of social acceptance. Most people don't examine the frame being pushed upon them. They just look for the dominant/mainstream think and believe whatever it entails. 'Fit in' for the sake of fitting in. Makes perfect sense as a hunter-gatherer, doesn't work in modern society where malicious individuals have collectively spent trillions on technology and complex methods for mindfucking the populace for money and power starting around early 1900s (Search: Redpill Video Compilation Nuke)

It fills a void in many peoples souls. It fills that vacuum for higher purpose that religion often did in the past. They adopt these views as a substitute, to feel whole, not because it benefits them in anyway or that it's correct. It's a godless religion.

Most people cannot reasoned out of what they did not reason themselves into. When you try to talk people out of this, they see it as an attack on their identity. They see it as a threat to their source of ill-gotten good feelz. They see it as a threat to their place in this psuedo global diversity tribe. They see it as a threat on their life investment. They see it as a threat to their excuse for social power via shaming.

you might think something like "but i think myself not through my friends" and although that might be true that doesn't mean you're not subconsciously becoming more like them (and that's human nature, we love to adapt to our environment for some reason), hang out with two millionaires and you will probably become the third one, hang out with two heroin addicts and you will probably become the third one, you should hang out with masculine people and powerful/optimistic people, they're the best people to surround yourself with, not feminized morons

second, read 48 laws of power, great book if you got the discipline to read and digest all of it, law 38 applies to this situation and that is "think as you like but act like the others", when stating a controversial belief (even though it might be true) the best possible thing that can happen to you is changing the opinion of the stranger you're talking to (good for you, want a pat on the back?) and the worst possible thing is being labeled as a sexist misogynist racist women hater alt right neo nazi (which happened to you) and you'll probably get ostracized (or worse, cancelled/your career will take a hit)

I laugh at this kind of stuff. But I find it easy to win debates about things like this.

I like to turn it around in them. I insist that it's my dream to be a stay at home dad, and I will only consider marriage with a woman who can be the breadwinner and support our family financially.

I've not met a feminist that was able to escape their own knot of bullshit in the face of this scenario. Am I being sexist? And in what way?
