I made plans to meet my LTR at here after a work event. I was on great form and was networking well and as such I stayed out pretty late. I did update her that I was still out and she gave me a blunt response. I was disrespectful I understand that. However, it was important for my career progression and networking.

Her ex would often stay out late and not up date her and was a bit immature/beta overall. He would let others push him around in front of her etc.

I apologized, got her a small gift and explained myself. She seemed okay but has now told me she needs some space as this reminded her of her ex. I believed this was a bit dramatic and this isn’t what I’m looking for in a LTR. So I decided it would be best if I left and when I was leaving she was telling me how she likes me and she does want to see me just not as often right now.

I find it pretty unattractive how over the top this is and how she is basically blaming me for stuff her ex has done in the past. Which I think she should get over anyway as it seems easier to forgive or forget instead of dragging around a bunch of past issue.

So the fact she wants her ‘space’ and I’m pretty busy over the next few weeks makes me think a soft next would be best. Or should I reach out once I’m not busy anymore?
