Keep an eye on deal a day websites like Shark Stores or Woot for cheap jewelry and gifts. Stockpile a few, pre-wrapped without a card. Make a little spreadsheet with a picture of the gift and how it's wrapped. Forget a birthday or anniversary? Gift on hand. Giving you shit about something? I had a gift for you, but I'm returning it because of your behavior.

You can also use them for bartering. I bought a handgun and established a nice rapport with the older lady at the gunstore. I went in to pick up my gun after the waiting period was over. "My girlfriend is allergic to the metal in these earrings I got her, would you like them instead?" $10 earrings traded for a $50 gun case, and a promise that I wouldn't tell her manager.
