I'm bringing a platonic female friend of mine down to the city where I go to college to attend a Halloween costume party I was invited to. I'll stress that it's purely a platonic relationship here. We both agreed it made sense for her to crash at my place due to the logistics of getting home that night.

It's been a couple months since I broke up with my girlfriend and I'll admit I was hoping to score that night, though it isn't my main mission. Will my female friend serve as social proof (she's funny and reasonably good looking) or will she make it harder for me to seal the deal with any girl I meet? Especially given that she'll be crashing at my place? I truly consider her a friend and don't want to third wheel her or shit where I eat, so to speak. How could I work around this if it will be a stumbling block?

Secondly, should I completely ignore the possibility of getting laid at a Halloween party? Of course they get hyped as generally being a time when girls skank out and poon flows freely, but some here have said Halloween parties and holiday events in general are overhyped and that only amateurs attend them with any desire to get action. I should mention it's a large house party, and the number of guests will probably be about 40-70. If it is worth it, any pointers for Halloween parties in particular? Thanks.
