Considering your hair is gonna be gone eventually, keeping her as a long term partner may not be a good idea.

Just because she says she’s going to do something doesn’t mean she’s actually going to do it. Women are driven by their emotional state. She is likely just reacting to the sudden change.

Test it now. Since it’s shaved anyway, see if it impacts how she acts with you. If you stay on top of your game otherwise and she starts getting distant, you have your answer.

You ever see those vids where a normally bearded dad will show his young kids his shaven face for the first time and they freak out? That's what she was doing. Definitely worrying that she would actually say that to you though... Total lack of respect. I'd pull back communication and see if she starts thirsting or not.

Remember, women always will branch swing. If you validate her by arguing or getting insecure, it will compound the SMV drop in her eyes. Stay stoic, more shit tests will come.

In the long term, she’ll either learn to accept that your SMV hasn’t changed all that much and deal with it, or branch swing while masterfully putting the blame on you for causing it.

Look into finasteride. It halts hairloss for 80% of men who use it. There's a tiny chance for side effects, but try it out and see if it works for you as they go away once medication is stopped.
Most guys just "accept" hairloss without looking into other options.

Keep it shaved. What you did wrong was ask, even jokingly, if she still liked you or whatever. It comes across as weak and that specific question comes up all the time with bald guys so as soon as you even joke about it you look beta. It's you head and hair. I alternate shaving and a short buzz cut. It works for me. I'm older, I have thinner hair on top but actually could grow it out to a decent look. I just like the low maintenance of shaving and buzzing. I do it myself. It's been a godsend with the lockdown. Own your hairstyle. The only person you have to impress is yourself. You have to look presentable for business and socializing but shaving is very neat and easy. If you show her you are going to do it your way she will respect that. Do no make it a power struggle.
