I honestly think that trying to ask someone out on IG actually backfires a majority of the time due to the fact that it’s on IG.

It’s become a cliche in society that’s viewed negatively (mostly because it’s fat autist neck beard nice guys doing it). So, even if you have decent SMV, do not go the IG route. She will assimilate your pickup attempt on there with the gross betas.

Even if she was interested in person initially (giving you her contact info a usually a good sign), her interest will immediately plummet when she senses you’re asking her out in her DM’s.

You're not going to get an explicit rejection from 80% or more of women. Being that direct is a male thing to do.

Never pre-reject yourself (don't ask yourself if she has a boyfriend). Act as she didn't mention him if she does at first, because a lot of the times he's imaginary, just a hurdle to weave out the weak and the beta. Like, don't be a dick, just keep a light banter.

Try to write less than her, in amount of characters and in message number. That way you don't come off as needy.

It was going OK until the end. When she talked about her boyfriend, you should've just pretended like she didn't even mention having a boyfriend.

Her: "I don't think my boyfriend would be ok with that since we just met"

You: "So let's go to [this place]. How does [this time and date] work for you?"

She'd probably say no but you've got nothing to lose at that point and you'd get a definite answer and not be making this thread asking us to help you figure it out. You also should've dropped the line about it being a date. Show her, don't tell her. She knows that if you met up it wouldn't be as just friends. Keep a little mystery and don't feel the need to spell it out. Lead her into it.

When you said "but if you have a boyfriend" I cringed hard. Also at "No hard feelings lol"

If you go back on yourself now and try to be alpha and get her even tho she has a boyfriend you'll seem kinda creepy and desperate. Should never have acknowledged the boyfriend.

Why did you bring up her boyfriend again? YOU chose to end the convo, she was seeing where you were going to lead her. She didn’t even reject you, she was saying, “Hey, there’s a goalie so mind your steps.”

I mean if it organically happens again maybe, but idk if you should pursue this. YOU already established she has a boyfriend in the way that that means there’s something not okay with you meeting, which kicks in her anti slut defense, I wouldn’t have even had said I was thinking of a date, I thought that was granted. Maybe next time focus less on the language and more on meeting, isolating, and kino.
