Come on dude you know it's going to get better. Stop doing whatever addictive shit you're doing. Video games, porn, drugs and especially booze will all depress you by design. Do healthy shit and things will fall into place if you get some momentum.

Things will line up and someone will hire you. It's usually just a numbers game and being st the right place at the right time. Go work in a grocery store for now or something and have some fun. No shame in living with your parents even in your mid twenties some people take a bit longer to blossom. It's good that you don't like it else you would be a dead beat. Imagine you were just okay with it? That's a real loser.

You'll find friends in healthy activities or even at work, especially at that grocery store. Hell, in sick of my friends right now and want to purge them. The girlfriend too. Be good with goodbyes and good with hellos. Not a big deal. Go make yourself someone who is fuckable and friendable first.

And get some vitamin D. For real.

Don't kill yourself. That brings a lot of pain to those that love you and is a selfish act. After your parents are dead, then you can kill yourself but it's a fucked up thing to make your parents bury you.

You need to just focus. After I got off a decade long binge of heroin, I burnt all my bridges, no friends, no girlfriends, and was living with my parents. I am still living with them but I actually managed to land a job in my degree biochemistry.

I didn't have a job so I spent 3 hours a day at the gym and watched everything I ate. I got super fit and my confidence shot up through the roof. Started doing dating apps and meeting people. I still don't have any friends but I do have a couple plates and possibly going to start a LTR soon with the korean one.

Keep your head up. Use your time wisely. 2 hours of applications a day and then 2 hours of working out. Don't fuck fat chicks, keep your standards. I'd rather jerk it than fuck a fat bitch.

Think of the hours of your day as time slots and fill them up. With anything. Productive things. Future goals. Prepping healthy food. Things you like. And guilty pleasures. Sit back and do nothing for an evening but not until you've earned it. That's when life feels really good. JOIN A LOCAL CLUB. Be it badminton, chess, or martial arts. We all start somewhere. No. Suicide? I highly disapprove of it.

Why?

Small successes. That's all there is to it.

You set a small goal. Maybe it's spend half an hour in the gym tomorrow, maybe it's wake up on time. Maybe it's to cook a solid meal yourself. Whatever it is, that's success. And success feels good, at least better than nothing.

Add to them. You actually try a few exercises. You force yourself to speak to a trainer. You buy a cookbook.

Add to that. You lift 1hr for 4 days in the week. You spend an hour a day seeking council on r fit. You research what herbs you need to start a spice rack.

Add to that, you want a higher squat by end of month. You recruit a gym buddy who you aren't already aquatinted with, you try to make your first paella or Busch de'noel.

It's all small steps. "There are no great acts only small things done with great (love) passion/conviction."

Those successes are what keep you going. What build intention, goals, purpose, satisfaction.

You can beat this. But the first step is to get over yourself. You haven't realized the possibilities life holds for you, "barring severe schizotypal mental cancer"

You can always step forward. Are your shoulders broad enough to carry even the lightest burden? Then fucking carry more. Just a little bit more every time set smart goals.

I'm in the same position as you. Oil crashed after school and took all of the work for recent grads in my field with it. Now I'm going to re-educate. Again.

Take an online course or two to stay up-to-date and to give yourself purpose. There have been studies showing that people who retire and stop working completely are way more likely to die than had they kept working. We evolved to have purpose. Find one.

Hang in there brother, work hard at something you want and harder at what you need.

Hey I've been in a very similar position. I did have a couple friends who'd take me out and that helped loads with my anxiety, depression, and anti-social nature at the time. I started setting little goals for myself, which I'd write in a journal every morning as i ate breakfast: do laundry, get (list of) groceries, send (5) applications out today, go on a run, relax and watch Netflix/play video games/etc. I liked including 7 things on the list, cause it's a lucky number, and then I knew that to get those things done I had to summon some effort.

Not sure if you're an idealist and a cynic like me, you might have a hard time with taking charge of your life and jumping through the hoops of society and academia to get to where you want to be, but if you don't do it for yourself, no one will do it for you. That's the hard truth man.

I'd recommend you start by watching this scene from Fight Club. Also recommend you watch the whole movie, twice, and then reassess your life from birth to present time, and think about what you'd like to do in the future. Don't let unemployment or lack of women rule your fucking life, it's your life goddamn it
