Just another/easier way to communicate sometimes. From my experience some girls don't go on the app all day, are planning to delete it, or only use it on wifi. So texting/calling is more convenient.

Getting the number makes it real. Until you get her out of the online tinderverse you don't exist in her reality. It's one step closer to meeting in person and solidifying yourself as an actor in the play she's casting for her life.

I'd call it an, "acknowledgement of interest"--a surrendering of accountability on her part, and piece of mind for the man. Actually, yeah, it does sound BP when I spell it out like that; it's possibly contradictory to outcome independance.

Some people have app notifications turned off, so they'll see a text at any time but only see your Tinder messages when they are intentionally in the app.

The comments here already pretty much nail it. Just to add, asking for her number also benefits you bc of the Ben Franklin effect (google it). You're asking her for a small favor, and seeing if she follows your lead. If she gives it to you, then you can continue to lead her, and set up a date.

I've gotten less flakes when moving conversation to text. Also, some girls might be fickle and delete their Tinder out of the blue.

I landed a few without even breaching the phone number. it just proves that phone numbers aren't an IOI. she's either into you or she isn't at the end of the day
