Universal truth: You're never too old to be young!
[–]sunday_silence 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
why do yo need to go to bars? I am 52 and meeting tons of women on that meetup.com site that has tons of stuff for just about every stupid hobby/interest imaginable. Like movies? or knitting? or dogs? or hemp? or knitting dogs out of hemp? there's just a bunch of clubs I joined, it costs nothing, or you give them $2 when you get to an event. There's meetups for people who are shy, people who into sex, etc. etc.
Try to do some stuff sober. I never got much out of the bar scene. I tend to make friends by talking to people. When I look back on it, nearly ever single great friend in my life when I met them initially it started out with some long drawn out deep conversation. Thats just how I am. You maybe more shy, maybe dont like to talk, I dunno. But try doing some groups like this, the best thing is it costs you nothing but maybe a gallon of gas and some time and its sober.

I second this, went to 2 meetups recently and met a great girl on the first one (went on a date with her later) and ended up dancing with heaps of girls on the second one. There are lots of hobby based meetups but there are ones for bar hopping and clubbing too if that's what you like.
I'm 36 and the first one was laser tag and the second one was at a club on a saturday night.
It's great because everyone is there to meet each other, no pressure, just have fun with it.
I look forward to going to more of them in the future for sure.
PS. It is awesome you have discovered those things about yourself and I can relate to just about everything you listed too. Now that you know these things you can work at addressing them and bring out your real self.

who cares if ur alone chat chicks at bars, avoid groups bigger than 2 and if they ask where your friends are.
"My friends? I killed them all."
"I have no friends, not even my cat."
agree and amplify

Read No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover. Best money you will spend on a book.
Go to the gym and lift.

go join a social dance club i did it on a whim, and don't tell any of your friends your doing it, next time there's a big shindig your friends are doing (like a wedding) you can just a move and it feels sssooo good.
plus it fun as fuck as keeps you fit, and this IS a great way to meet/hook up with strangers.

i don't think it really matters but i started to learn to swing dance and i have no dancing experience, could do the same with jazz, tango and all the other partner dances.

Stop analyzing and reanalyzing everything about you and what is the right, wrong move to do. Just go out and start talking to girls. Flirt with them. Become a man.

Practice talking to people. Really, it helps. Talk to the people in line at the supermarket, at the bank. Anywhere. Striking up a conversation with ANY stranger is nerve wracking - but it is also a skill. And one that you can practice. It builds confidence and that is a key factor in any approach with women.

You seem really focused on this am I ugly thing, but remember that this is literally a sub that people would only go to because either they think they are ugly or they want to make fun of others. You are still working on yourself and part of that is improving your appearance where you can, and accepting the aspects that you can, looks matter but they certainly aren't everything.

Problems: 1. Going out alone sucks, find some younger guys (early 20's) more likely to be single, and going out to hunt that beaver. Daygame is awesome, find a daytime environment that is social and approach there, being alone shouldn't matter in this case. 3. Better to be creepy/desperate than nonexistant to a girl.

Your Inner Game is very weak. As bad as you describe yourself, it can´t be. I skimmed your first post, you already had lots of accomplishments.
Did you read the sidebar? "Models"? Might be very important for you.
You´re not too old for going out and going out alone is no shame either. And it´s not creepy to approach as long as you´re well groomed and believe it´s not creepy. How do people meet each other? They have to talk to each other. Even friends have once been strangers.
For meeting people, be creative. Join clubs. Use the internet. /r/R4R, meetup.com and so much more. Tinder and co. are a tough place and not in any way like real life.
Maybe try meditating. I recommend watching some 21st Convention speaks from Nick Sparks, Liam McRae and many more and the RSD Guys (especially Tyler) on Inner Game, Escalation, Conversation. I could recommend you a few vids if you want me to. You don´t have to agree with them, but lots of their ideas are, in my opinion, true and truly game changing.
There´s a pain period of a couple months you have to overcome before reaching your goals, stick with self developing.
Thanks for your reply and yes, please recommend some good vids

I can´t really give you any recommendations for RSD stuff, there are lots of videos on Inner Game.
21st Convention videos (mostly)
Liam McRae (Inner Game, Escalation): This and this.
James Marshall (Inner Game): This and this.
Sasha Daygame (Daygame, Direct): This and this.
Nick Sparks: A really good public speaker, if you have that much time, watch all of the long videos, the best is "How to hold conversation like a man"
The 21st Convention is a great souce for videos. There are lots of other videos which are also great, often from other speakers. Watch at least one vid from Nick Sparks, I thought most those videos are valuable and i use them as podcasts to listen while doing sports etc.
