I'm a Virgin at 26, and recently I've read Models by Mark Manson in an attempt to finally do something about it.

Now, I've just stumbled on an intersesting post done by this guy in the past (http://web.archive.org/web/20140703000039/http://www.practicalpickup.com/guide-to-improving-with-women) The way I read that, "Models" is all about jumping straight to what he describes as an "Integrated Man" while skipping the rest.

Isn't that a tad unrealistic? I'm a complete virgin who kissed two girls in my life - now while I have recieved validationa dn positive attention from attractive girls, it was never in the form of one actually sleeping with me. I mean, how exactly do I get to that point without any sexual experience at all, or ever seeing that I'm not the youngest and feel that I don't have the time to experiment and fail unless I'm willing to never grow up and have to sacrifice founding a family so I can improve with women as I will be busy with that way up into my thirties at this rate.

The book fails completely at explaining at how I'm supposed to simply let go of my needs - I mean, I managed to be a virgin at this age, OF COURSE I have an intense need to feel liked and desired for just once in my life.

If I could just walk around in my mind and throw a switch that kills my neediness, I wouldn't have to read that book in the first place. I'm not some sort of Buddhist Monk - I want to get laid already, and fuck lots of women so I can finally let go of all this and relax again. Not the other way around - I don't see how that's supposed to work. After all, I completely failed at something that even fat, unwashed ex-convicts get done on a regular basis - now how exactly should I go at talking to a woman as if I could get laid if I wanted to , because in reality I definitely can't.

On a rational level, what he says about quality before quantitiy etc. makes sense - but deep down I can not kill my intense desire to fuck a lot and make up for my missed youth before it's too late for good.

I'm compensating, which makes me needy as fuck - for example, right now I'm home and posting this when I should be at the library writing on my Master Thesis. Not that I could concentrate on it in my current state at all. I mean, what's the point of living your life if you will always be a weak sucker who cowers before women, right?

Also - if you really set on improving, how long does it take to go from nothing to someone? I read stuff on here about guys who lost their virginity on their first approach in an SNL, or another who went from nothing to 18 girls in less than a year - how should I be able to deal with possible constant failure in the face of the fact that things like this are possible?´without feeling like a worthless piece of shit?
