I'm actually really extroverted. I love going out, and will go out for practically any reason. However, there's always this initial social anxiety I get before I go out, I guess in anticipation of meeting new people. I've been pushing myself out of my comfort zone for 5 years now. Logically, I know that literally after I talk to one or two people, all the anxiety will dissipate. However, I always still have this anxiety there at the beginning of the night. I would think after meeting people has become such a norm for me, that the anxiety wouldn't really show its face anymore. So, what's the deal? Does this initial anxiety ever really go away, no matter how much you push yourself?
