If you don't like being a short guy, stop being a short guy. Be the fun guy, or the well dressed guy or the guy who knows all the best jokes. If you're the short guy, you're always playing the tall guy's game.

I would definitely like to see some opinions on this. I'm 5'7 myself and sometimes it can be hard to ignore all the stereotypical 6 foot muscle bound guys who populate bars/clubs. I've gotten over worrying about it but it still seems to effect peoples initial perception of you.

Don't let it be a big deal. Most short comings are only a big deal if you make it one. Just be confident.

Quick example: I recently got my hair cut into a mow-hawk while I was in Vegas. I could tell by talking to people that my hair drastically affected the way they responded to me. I got a lot of sideways glances from girls where I used to get appreciative looks. This made me more worried about approaching people because now I had to overcome their negative opinions. But after awhile I honestly forgot that I even had a mow-hawk and I was as confident as ever, approaching people left and right. Once I got over my self-limiting belief (that people would dis-like me due to my hair) I noticed that I started to get more positive responses than ever before (Because once I started to talk to them they realized that everything they thought about me and my mow-hawk was wrong!)

I'm a maybe 5-8 Asian dude. Being short is a natural disadvantage for dudes, that's a reality. Luckily my mama blessed me with good looks so at least I got that going for me. But you know, people only know you as the short guy if you're short and have nothing else going for you. I think John Wooden said it best when he said "Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”
