I asked out an old friend of mine who I had not seen for a month or two (ran into her at work), because she seemed interested (kino and body language told me). She agreed. I texted her on the day of the date, saying something like, "Hey, just want to remind you i'm picking you up at 6 for our date. -insert joke-). When I picked her up, right away, started talking about how she just wanted to be friends, because she did not realize this was a date until the text (even though I said "let's go out" in person).

Old me would have been butthurt and sad. I probably would have had an emotional fit in front of her. That, or simply allowed myself to be friendzoned.

This time, I played it cool and did not give a flying fuck, despite how attracted to her I was in the past (I was pretty much in the friendzone before this, got out of it, then back in, repeat a couple times). I decided to take her to a park and catch up a bit. We did, then she kept bringing up just being friends. She asked if we could hang out like we use to. I told her no, simply because I was/am interested in her. After about 30 minutes of that, I told her it was time to go. She said why, and I simply told her I am in the mood to go on a date tonight (ended up rainning, so that got cancled to a different day). And that was that.

I feel loads better after atleast trying. I made my intentions clear from the start, which is something I have struggled with in the past. I just want to say; people who were in my situation, just give it a shot. If she says yes, great! If she says no, oh well; there are plenty of other women out there, and you now know she is not someone to invest in. Nothing bad can come of it either way.

So yeah, just felt like sharing. Any advice/comments/concerns/etc are more than welcome!
