I was a brunch last week and saw this cute blonde sitting beside my friend (who was across from me - HB was diagonal to me). Turned to her, said "Excuse me, but I think you're really cute and I want to go out with you." She laughed, said this was a first, and gave me her number. The worst that can happen is that she can say 'no' !

Isolation. You want to ask someone out while not in the company of others.

It's not even about rejection or you "looking like a creep". It's about the girl not wanting to look like a slut or like she's being picked up. However, casually asking for someone's number is a lot easier in the vicinity of others. This is because asking for someone's number doesn't necessarily have the same undertone of asking someone out. You ask for dudes' numbers all the time to hang out or study, right? So it's better to flirt, ramp up escalation and attraction, get the number (even better if she asks for YOUR number), and then later ask her out.

I was standing next to HB8. She was on my left. We were both talking to another girl, hb 5. Imagine a triangle. HB 5 at the top point with me and HB at the bottom. But imagine me and hb 8 much closer.

While making eye contact with the HB5. I pull out my phone, make a new contact, type hb8 name and hand it to her. She looks, grabs it, as soon as she grabs it I take control of the conversation and give my opinion and make hb5 laugh. While she is distracted, hb 8 puts her number in, hands it back, I kiss her on the cheek and leave.

So try something like that if you can.

They do not exist. Your reality at the moment is you and her. When I'm in the zone, I don't "see" other people. Only the one I'm interested in. Saves you thinking about what other people are thinking. I feel like I have an out of body experience because I don't feel like I'm in the same place as everyone else.

More confidence. Don't worry about what other people think. Talk normally and casually as you would in a private setting. There's nothing creepy about expressing your interest for someone in a public setting. Most of the spectators are probably jealous that you're comfortable enough with yourself to talk/flirt/close in public.

I've actually inadvertently engaged with plenty of girls because they saw/heard me talking to another girl in public; especially in classroom settings.

I've done it plenty of times and always with positive results. Just do it. It's not a big deal. It only becomes a big deal if you make it a big deal. Who cares if other people know you're asking a girl for her number? You're a heterosexual male. She's a heterosexual female. You're both single. Getting each others' numbers and going on a date is what you're supposed to do.

EDIT: don't hit on your coworkers unless you're planning on finding a new job. hitting on classmates is fine.

If its just strangers, it's totally normal. The girl probably won't even think about, she'll be focussed on you.

If you're just saying you should meet up again, it shouldn't matter even if it's her friends, assuming the context made it normal for you to Suggest it.

If she's with her friends and you ask her on a date or are very sexual, then she might avoid saying yes, when she would have given you her number had you isolated.

Isolation is always better, but you should only let it affect your actions in the third case.

TALK TO THE GIRL. Smile, say hello. Girls love to chat about random shit. Be personable. Be confident. If she's digging the conversation, just pull out your cell phone (with the add-contact screen up) and hand it to her. She'll know what to do. This is a more "ballsy" move but it's gold.
