Ugh that pic made me cringe so hard, because I remember doing the same thing years ago...

THIS guide is something people struggling to text should take a look at. It basically says the same things OP here posted, but goes into detail about others. It really helped me and now I'd say texting is one of my strong points.

A major problem is getting used to the proper texting mindset. This is touched on page 22 in that PDF.

Also a good technique I use for girls I haven't talked to for a while and want to catch up with is to send a joke. I go to /r/jokes and basically steal something short and send it off. It invokes responses 90% of the time and is easy to start a short conversation leading to a possible day date or just get together.

Your goals via texting should be getting on her good side and lead the conversation to logistics. Don't try to build much rapport over text.

Also, if your day revolves about waiting on someone to text back... Just get some hobbies, text someone else or do something usefull and don't wait all day for a responce. People tend to get overinvested and show it this way which can be very unattractive!

There is no "perfect" text. I've sent texts saying "how was your day brah" and gotten responses and dates and more. The key is to have fun, and if you have fun they will too.

Literally this is all you need to say.

This whole thing could be summed up pretty easily by just pretending that they have a dick, how would you text your friends? You wouldn't bother them with boring ass questions and stupid shit nobody cares about right? Well that's how you should text everyone. Granted, you can be a little more sexually charged than if you texting your friends, but just keep it simple stoopid, save conversations for in person.

Text them from evening to night. Set up phone conversation. If she's 18-24 you'll notice talking to her before she sleeps does some weird magic in their heads and makes them really like you.

Unless they're hanging up to talk to another guy.

I disagree with the confirmation date text. I prefer to say something along the lines of "I'll be done with work around 4 pm, and I'll text you when I'm on my way!"

The first half is good but the second half isn't that great. If you've gone on a date with her it doesn't matter what you text her anymore. Just leave the phone alone until you want to see her again instead of worrying about what to text. If you've gone on a date you've got a pretty good idea of if you're gonna want to see this person again, so texting becomes stupid.

My rule is that texting should only be used to set up a meeting. You can have a little bit of a conversation first, but it should be leading to setting up a meeting with a girl. Any other conversation you want to have with her is better done face-to-face. You can't properly convey what you mean over text. I've had times where I've texted something that wasn't supposed to be offensive and the girl took it the wrong way. I avoid that altogether by keeping my texts to a minimum.

One that I use that gets a quick reply is "Can you dance". I use it spontaneously no set up and it usually peeks their interest in me.

Big tip for guys: Do not use emoticons. Emoticons are for 13 year olds. I've learned this the hard way. They aren't sexy and they don't help you in looking confident. If you want to say something funny/sarcastic but don't know how she will take it, and need to put an emoticon at the end, don't. Either rephrase, or better, send it anyway. If she takes it the wrong way or gets offended, you can always brush it off or even use it to your advantage. For example...

Guy: What are you up to this weekend Sarah?

Girl: What was your name again?

Guy: Only one way to find out

Girl: Hah, I'll just call you my future boyfriend

Guy: You're going to have to buy me at least one drink before getting into my pants young lady :P (here is where you need to leave out the emoticon)

Girl: I'm not that easy

Guy: Good, I like a challenge. Drinks on Friday then?

I'd just like to point out, don't text too much. Either call her, or see her in person. Its cool to text during the day, you're at work on break or some shit, but your goal shouldn't be to carry a conversation with her over text, but to actually get to see her in person!
