Hey, so I work as a Supervisor and there this beautiful receptionist that I THINK is showing interest in me. But I’m so bad with this stuff, I need your help.

To clarify, I am not her Supervisor. We work in completely different departments.

I was working super late one night doing repairs in a gym, when this girl came up to see what was going on. When she realized it was me, she stayed around with me and we talked a while - she would mention my height. Later on she had a guest complaint, drunk idiot. I took care of it and then gave her my personal number on my card and she smiled.

Cut to the other night when I went to a completely different place to drop off my resume, I bumped into her again! Turns out she has a second job elsewhere and now I was applying at the same place. I asked her if she could put in a good word for me.

I had to wait around for a few hours until her boss came back so I could give him my resume in person.

While waiting, the receptionist came and sat next to me in the lobby and we talked for hours. Every time she had a spare moment, she would come back and join me. We talked about our families, she told me about how she works all these jobs and looks after her father. I told her I have done the same with my dad. She told me about her passions, where she grew up, her living situation.

She said she lives with two female roommates and no mention of a boyfriend.

In the last hour - half an hour when she came back to talk with me, she started playing with a strand of her hair while talking to me. I started looking into her eyes longer. She allowed moments of silence to pass, and just smiled.

Is this a sign she’s into me? I have real strong fear of rejection to be honest with you. But I should probably just find the courage and ask her for her number point blank.

She works late, and I don’t see her often. But when I do, part of me is DYING to ask for her number. Any advice how you would do it?
