I just had what I consider to be a personal revelation. I'm 30 and stuck awkwardly between friend zone and alpha male. I've got two steady groups of female acquaintances, half of which I would do anything to get with, and half of which I personally wouldn't date because of my own standards. The one's that seem to fit "dream girl" status are the one's that aren't interested, and the others, of course, are making themselves obviously available. Enough back story.

My point is, that more often than not, even though I've spent a significant portion of my life trying to overcome friend zone with beautiful, fun, smart women, the ones I'm in love with are worth ten million bucks no matter what happens. I get to be more significant to them than all their shitty boyfriends combined, and while I've been in love before, and I know how great that is, sometimes it's better to be an appreciated friend than just some guy passing through. Every once and a while we get friend zoned for a reason...because we actually mean something to them...probably more than we think. I think there's a lot to be said for that. It shouldn't be disappointing, it should be flattering.

Now wish me luck while I sarge the shit out of some 6's and 7's this weekend.
