If all you do is let her know that you're physically attracted then you are doing it wrong, kinda. This can become a turn-off if you fail to establish rapport and eventually down the line fail to build comfort. Direct and open intention is a great component of pick-up/seduction but it is not the only component by a long shot. You only ever need to tell a woman once, from then on she'll know you want her. Continuing to do so is pulling too much w/o pushing. You need both to build sexual tension properly.

Think of it this way. Your direct approach didn't/is not working with this girl but at least you now KNOW that you don't need to waste your time with her and move to the next one.

If you use the subtle approach, you're gonna get mindfucked because you don't know if she wants you but is not getting the signal or she doesn't really want you and is actually getting your signal.

Point is - direct is better. Saves you a lot of time.

Couple things I can think of, what exactly are your intentions? Are you just trying to get numbers/ laid? Or are you just trying to have a good time? The only expectation I have when approaching a girl is to have fun. Also being forward/direct can work in certain situations, but you gotta make sure she's sending IOI's and her comfort level is high.

Even then you said she had possible interest a year ago, meaning your method works. Try it on other girls.

You're in the clubs so direct is preferred.
