I'm not sure if everyone is top of their game here, but they are always things you don't like about yourself, particularly relative to a girl you are talking to. Perhaps it is something not visible: lack or success or achievement, not being rich, a history of failed relationships. Or the visible: like you believe a girl is out of you league, perhaps you aren't that much taller. And this is all relative! Maybe you are doing OK in life and earn a decent income but the girl in question is doing even better. Or maybe you 5'10 and girl is 6'. Or maybe there is a significant age gap between you. The question is how do use rise above these believed negatives? Do you just acknowledge them and move on? Do you let them interfere with your choices and approach, who you approach despite your attraction? For the invisible ones, sometimes age as well, do you just be upfront about them? Maybe just throw in a hint. Or do you only reveal when asked? Sometimes even what you are looking for can be an insecurity! Perhaps you are only after a casual relationship and don't think you can commit. How would you own this? Could you own it and play it off as a positive despite a likely rejection?
