I saw something awesome recently on YouTube and am going to try it out: "Hi I'm [name], I'm here to flirt with you. How you doing?"

A pretty neutral one goes like this:

Look over your shoulder if you see a girl looking at you. Look back until she breaks contact, then move in. (especially if she smiles)

Then say "Yeah I am listening, what did you wanna tell me?"

Probably you catch her off-guard, so she says "nothing", respond with "It sure looked like you were watching me, anyway my name is [Name], what is yours?". Then "You should introduce me to your friends". Make sure to smile when you tell this otherwise you may come off as irritated, keep it playful. Maybe deal out some high fives to her friends to make it even more informal.

Next ask for her opinion on something for example and you got yourself a conversation.

Sometimes I've found using an innocuous question makes it super easy. It also depends on the situation, if you're already right next to them it could be as simple as "Is this place always so busy/dead?"

From there you could talk about the bar, whether they come often, lead to where they're from, what they do, about their hobbys etc etc.

If they're across the way and aren't in conversation but have made some positive body language, you could buy yourself a drink and simply say hey. Strangely, I've found when I ask a question with no intent and actually need it answered they take it as flirting and it tends to go well. The venues I go to my friends often disappear and I'll ask if they've seen anyone that matches their description, and for whatever reason has led to great conversations.

If you're a smoker asking for a light works pretty often too, as you need it and most smokers like to commiserate as non smokers hate that shit.
