Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. You need to be much better at reading people than just seeing if they smile/don't smile. That will only come with practice.

I've gotten visual cues from women lots of times. The key is to act upon it immediately if you are interested in her. Just go right up to her, smile and say "hi there! I'm [blah]" then go from there.

It's not all that critical to get hung up on girls smiling at you though; 90% of the time you will be generating interest without the girl acting first. Indicators after the woman is talking to you are much more reliable than smiles, etc., before she has met you.

By the way, do you smile at her first?

I'm so blown away by this... do you get smiles or any reaction back from girls often? I've made eye contact + a small smile with my eyes with hundreds of people here and only ONE foreign girl has smiled back at me! I went to Rome a month ago and this one girl smiled and even said "Hi...". Your culture is just awesome.

they say that the way to tell a real smile from a fake smile is the muscles around the eyes. If someone is smiling to be polite they will only smile with their mouth. the muscles around the eyes are tensed involuntarily (and most people can not voluntarily use them) when we are happy so if someone is giving you a smile where these muscles are tensed you can be sure that they are genuinely happy to see you. Although it may not necessarily indicate interest because we would be happy to see a friend as well, but it does most likely mean that they associate you with positive things. You can also look into something called micro expressions which supposedly can often be good indicators of peoples true feelings on a matter.

A smile simply means you are open to socializing.

If she smiles at you, it means she would welcome the chance to chat with you.

when people smile at you, oftentimes it's human nature to smile back. if she smiles, looks away with a little giggle and looks back with the "fuck me" eyes, then it's on. just gotta read the IOI's.
