I'm currently visiting family in a relatively small city. I decided to go out with a friend, and we went to a club. Dance floor was extremely packed, as it was the only major place open. I noticed a lot of the people throughout the night were randomly making out, or escalating extremely fast.

I'm new to the club/bar scene. I'm perfectly fine with cold approaching out in public, I just don't have enough confidence to walk up to a drunk girl and start making out, or just let loose and dance. Do you guys have any tips on how to gradually work towards this? Unfortunately, I know it doesn't really matter, but when they ask me what I do, and I say, Ph.D. in Chemistry, I'm afraid I'm labeled as a nerd.. (Because then they respond with you must be super smart, or some other remark, granted I graduated from college about a year ago too)..

Throughout my night, I only spoke with about 6 girls, and one girl, I'm currently texting back and forth. She seems receptive, and gave major signs shes interested. I texted her this morning with, "Hey X, it's Y from xyz. You seemed fun! How are you today?' which leads me to my other question, how much rapport is enough before securing a date with her?
