You have evidence that dating isn't a prereq. Great.

Just because you can't close on dates is NOT evidence that it is a deterrent for anyone but you.

I go on dates because I enjoy them, not to fclose the girls.

I don't think anyone familiar with pua/seddit would claim dates are necessary. I would like to know the quality(and I don't mean physical) of the girls you are laying along with whether they are into you for more than just sex.

Edit: wanted to clarify after reading other replies, I don't pay for her on dates and don't drop money. I'm talking $20 in drinks dates or fun activity / show I would have done anyway.

Sometimes, like in cases for me where you can't exactly hang out with girls very often (did engineering in school and working) dating is the only option.

The way you explained it is a little weird, but I agree with you. Typical "dates" were invented at some point by some poor schmuck and have turned into the culturally acceptable way to "woo" a girl. The problem is, most guys treat a date like a date- meaning they get nervous, put the pussy on a pedestal, and basically don't act very attractive.

Dating at its very core is a way for the guy to seek validation from the girl ("Let me take you out and spend money on you- I won't try to make moves too soon, lest you reject me. I'll be the perfect gentleman and make your pussy as dry as the Sahara.")

I've had more than my fair share of experience in the last 7 years- high school till now- and I honestly can't remember the last time I went on a "date" with a girl who wasn't already my girlfriend (never, actually). Meanwhile, I've "hung out" with girls hundreds of times, I've "gone out" with them, and I've fucked em silly during random one-night-stands (some of which later turned into fuck buddies and actual relationships).

Dating is for chumps. Bring the girl to your place or go to hers. If that isn't an option, go out and do something, but do it with a different mindset. It's not a date, it's just you guys going out to have fun. Meanwhile, kino fast and often, escalate that shit, and make some real moves- preferably before the end of the "date." If you don't do that, good luck keeping her around.

Nobody ever said you can't get to know a girl if you don't go on a date with her. You should be getting to know her at least a little bit no matter what environment you're in. Then you should fuck her. Then you should get to know her some more if she's been cool enough so far. If she isn't cool enough, get rid of her- congratulations, now you didn't waste much money or extra time getting to know some bitch, and you also got some sex out of it.

Now, I'm a younger guy, so obviously "dates" aren't even something I really think about. But I don't see myself doing it any differently as I get older. I'm gonna meet the girl- at a bar, party, or out and about during the day- I'm either gonna escalate immediately and fuck her or I'm gonna at least get the number if I'm up for it, and then I'm gonna have her come "hang out" with me, wherever that happens to be (usually my place).

I honestly couldn't agree more.

The issue is people don't realize dating isn't the same as a relationship.. You can have dates a lot early on in a relationship, as a way of showing you appreciate the girl for more than good times and sex, and that you like being in public with her, but dating itself is really just a weird overly formal process for getting to know someone with the intention of having a real relationship.

I say you can have dates once in a while or early on in a relationship because we use the same word for planning out a special night with your girlfriend as we do taking a girl you don't really know to dinner to sit around and talk..

I've never had anything come from dating a girl. Hanging out with a girl is a different story. But it's not the same as dating.

major upvote. I've had several girls fucking stick to me like glue that I never actually took out on a date. In fact every girl (since my last ex) that I have taken out on dates has never ended well for me. Actually 2 weeks ago before picking this girl up for dinner I thought to myself "you're already fucking up if you want to keep her around, taking girls on dates has always been bad in the past bro. dont do it!" .... I did it, after a couple weeks of seeing each other off and on she stopped calling/texting or returning my calls. BALLS waste of my time and money. fucking A
