Day Date ideas - critque/suggest?

These sound great for girls you've already been dating.

Personally, I don't know any girls after first meeting where they would warrant that type of investment for the first date. Sledding, Canoeing, Picnic, Kite flying???? All are a lot of effort for someone who has not yet proven themselves to me.

I'll stick with grabbing a quiet cup of coffee or drinks, let them impress me and THEN offer to spend more quality time with them.

Fucking Geocaching

Seriously, it is such an awesome daytime date idea. Here's why: 1) It is a mildly physical activity, always good for a date. 2) It involves a lot of walking, giving you both the benefit of conversation and the memory of having visited a lot of locations with you. 3) Searching for stuff and finding it is super exciting. Its like being a pirate. 4) Geocaches are often hidden in trees. Which means you get to lift her up to take a look. 5) Finally, when you find the cache, you get to sign your names in the little log inside. Which is a cool "us moment" opportunity.

I recommend talking to a few friends who already geocache so you can make sure your trip includes a few "sure finds." Basically caches you already know the exact location of so you can search around for a bit then point her in the right direction so she finds it.

Others have hit on this too but it's worth repeating...especially if it's a date of mutual discovery and I'll get back to that point in a moment. The 'date' itself is not as important as who you are being so dismissing boring first date meetups is not the real issue. But it's important to start it where you know she'll feel safe and can 'escape' if it's not going well. (that's her concern so it should be yours too and for the same reasons...you may discover she's not what you imagined after talking for a bit). So I like to start at a coffee shop (public and safe) and if it's going well then move to other more interesting and fun activities...window shopping (girls love to window shop and it's a way to have fun and show your humor by finding weird window displays or products you can make fun of)...move the date into a stroll by a river or lake if nearby - look at dating sites, 99% of women love to be near the water...food shopping for a special dinner if it's going well, even better if you can cook it or do it together. The whole point is the coffee shop date is just the safe starting point for a whole range of other fun activities you should move the date into. Now for the big issue.

You're approaching the whole dating scene from someone who wants to impress her. Wrong strategy. The point is to have a date to find out if she's worth your time (not the other way around which reeks of neediness - the big female turnoff. You should approach the date as the selector and evaluator not the person trying to impress. That one shift in thinking changes the whole dynamic so she's the one who needs to invest and impress you. Then you automatically become more interesting, challenging and attractive regardless of what you choose and lead her to do. And you can use that coffee shop conversation if you do it right to question her on her favorite things and or places (then pick one that's practical under the circumstances and lead her or invite her to join you doing that very thing - not at the moment she brings it up but after a bit when it's time to move to an alternate location. Another thing about this whole thing is to plan on moving at least twice so that every date involved multiple locations doing a variety of activities (some of which you learn about during the conversation over coffee). What almost every woman loves more than anything (and there's chemical biological reasons for it) is novelty. Simply doing three different locations (coffee shop to window shopping to farmers market for shopping for picnic snacks to riverside stroll ending with picnic with wine) provides lots of variety and novelty even if none of them by themselves are inherently unique by themselves. In the context of one day date the whole experience becomes novel and increases your attractiveness simply because you led her on an adventure that involved multiple activities each of which has opportunities for banter, physical escalation, playfulness and fun.
But do it all from a point of you seeing if SHE's fun to be with and worthy of spending more time with rather than being the typical dude who's objective in the date is to win her over. Unless you are being the 'chooser' and are a challenge (by withholding your own information to ramp up her curiousity) you will simply end up spending money only to land in the dastardly dreaded friend zone.

If your city has a decent one, the Farmer's Market is a great place for free and casual day dates. Chat up the vendors, grab some lunch and fresh veggies, listen to live music, and enjoy the downtown entertainment. It's more exciting than the generic "grab a cup of coffee", and you can easily set up another date by getting her to make you dinner with the food you buy there.

You can't go wrong with meeting at a coffee house and having a nice conversation. On average, you wont spend more than $12, you can sit and talk for hours, and depending on her mindset/dress/and schedule, you can segway straight into the "Insta-second date"

Recently took a date to an Air Trapeze class with a Groupon i found. Not sure if this is available in your state, but check it out. Super fun! And the girl absolutely told all her friends/family about it for days. It's perfect because it's physical, and allows you to be indoors, and kino with hi fives, and learn something together. Being up high, twirling and falling is thrilling.

These do sound like very energetic dates, but great for outdoorsy girls. For indoorsy girls maybe a game of pool? Teach her how to not sink the 8-ball and get some great kino while you're at it.

A good old fashioned picnic is fun. You can do the shopping together too and get the tasty food you are in the mood for. River walking is a personal favorite(We laid out in a blanket after in a field surrounded by apple trees), I suggest skinny dipping (at the end of a date, obviously). Sledding is an excellent winter date. You have to get warm together, oh boy. You could try indoor rock climbing. It's only about 20 bucks a person for an evening. You get you blood pumping and plenty of opportunities for teasing.
