When approaching a girl in public, what techniques/topics do you use to get a conversation going after the opener? I normally open with a genuine statement like "I saw you passing by and thought you looked cute, so I wanted to say hi". Then I mostly take one of these options:

- Comment on the reaction of the girl to my approach, for example if she acts shyer than I anticipated or seems flustered -> This doesn't reliably lead to conversation by itself, though.

- Aks her "so where are you going right now?" -> This is acutally a terrible move with girls who at first seem reluctant, since it gives them a rationalization to just walk away from the interaction to their destination. I only use it when nothing else comes to mind.

- Make assumptions about her job or degree. For example "You look like a university student" etc. This is the most reliable option, since it applies to every girl and allows you to make intersting or creative assumptions.
