In my experience the past, my success on online dating directly correlated to the quality of my pics.
I went from barely any matches to getting messaged first and multiple matches just based on the quality of photos I used.
The only helpful advice, we can give you is a review of your dating app photos

Bad photos, mediocre looks, bad poses, bad outfits, bad places to take photos, all contribute to being ignored on dating apps.
Overall, it’s better to meet people in person, than online dating at least if you are not super good looking.
Online dating is neither for noobs in dating women, nor for average looking people.

if this is normal or what I should do.
it's normal, unless you have a killer profile and high level of attractiveness (you better be an 8) or you're after the ugliest unattractive women (and even then they'll flake a lot).
dating apps for reasons stated a billion times inviting flakey behavior from women and even men. once you get the match, talk to a few people, and maybe get a few interesting arousing ideas in your head of the other person you kind of satisfy your ego right there and the drive to meet and do the date stuff seems like a lot of work.
it's better to meet in person, or talk to people off apps.

Make sure you build a rapport with the girl. Using apps is almost like the first date, be direct but patient.

You 100% can give up dude. If you aren’t having any success from the apps and you find that they’re actively making you more upset and harming your mental health you can 100% absolutely stop using them and go back to trying to meet girls in person the old fashion way. Honestly depending on how miserable they are making you feel you would probably be better off by giving up and taking a break to work on your mental health before trying to continue dating
