Bingo. My tactic is usually either play the game or just ignore them depending on my mood and schedule. But I NEVER take this type of people seriously. Or get emotionally invested.

no its to get your attention which you are not going to give them dont respond. they sill start bombarding uou with more messages soon dont respond to those either. theyre trying to see if they still have you hooked and youre basically going to imply that they dont and youre busy doing something else. once they actually put in effort you ignore them.

I was doing some interior work that I posted before and after photos of, and they reached out saying how amazing it looks and how they can’t wait to see the rest. So I responded, “well hopefully you can come see it in person sometime. What have you been up to anyways?” And then they never responded. Now they responded to another story, again trying to start conversation. You’re right, I think I’m not going to respond for once. For 5 years now I’ve always messaged them back right away, whenever they felt they needed attention. Now I won’t :)

Yeah man, don't do it. I posted a video of me looking jacked, topless, playing guitar on my balcony the other day and I had a similar thing where a girl reached out 'omg awesome!'
Ignore it. Power move. It's literally an attention thing.
I asked a female friend about this and she said 'that's the nature of IG" people just respond to stories not entirely wanting to have a conversation
