You just need to define what success is for you. Ofc getting phone numbers, sex, free validation, and compliments are fine we all agree but as long as you do everything right you still can get no results, you don't have control over everything. That's why my main philosophy is I just wanna have fun, okay I wanna be as good as I can while having fun but the main purpose is not a number, not making out with her in 5 minutes, it's just to enjoy the process

i get depressed too but you cant show it to people who aren't good friends, especially girls or they will find it unattractive unless they are your therapist or something. vary rarely a woman, that you might be able to hook up with that you are attracted to, will offer emotional support and a lot of times if they do you will probably get friend zoned. I'm saying this because i learned from mistake. Sometimes you will get lucky and find one that might be your friend at first and it could develop into something more but this is very rare and usually there is some sexual attraction in the beginning . Also some women are players as well and will just be your friend because they want to get with you but if you do things that turn them off they might stop being nice to you. It sucks that this double standard exists but it is what it is and you just have to play the game unfortunately . Some people might get lucky and find something real but for the vast majority dating is kind of a minefield.

just dont let the depression get to you too much and sometimes you have to focus on work or goals instead . It cant be party/ hookup time all the time.

I mean thats a good thing imo, something makes your day and light it up,but feeling sad/depressed is definitely not good, meditation and having a good normal life with purpose and hobbies and things you enjoy will help you in that.

Refocus your validation. Focus more on your reaching out and initiating than the response. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CONTROL WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT YOU. The validation you're looking for is just looking for someone to confirm what you think about yourself. Does that even make sense? Does Lebron go around asking people if he should play in the NBA? No.
