Dude… never ever take dating advice from your mother, your aunts, your grandmas, etc… Seriously their advice will be super cringeworthy and cheesy, and it won’t work because they are completely out of touch with social dynamics between teens of this generation.
See? I told you cheesy, cringe, redundant, and super long way too long. Not to mention those words “pinnacle of success” Like what kinda teenager talks like that 🤣.
and the “you are pretty” not only is generic but it also gives the girl free validation. Never compliments girl on her beauty if she is not your girlfriend, it only feeds her ego. If you treat a girl like a celebrity she will just treat you as a fan.
Dude no, just don’t ever take advice from your mum on how to be a man. If anything you might wanna take advice from your dad, assuming he is good with the ladies, and if he is not, then just avoid taking advice from your parents.
Unbelievable , you manage to be even more cheesy and cringeworthy than your mum 🤦🏽♂️
First of all, skip all this long ass texts. The longer your texts are the more try hard you come across. You also shouldn’t double text so forget about dividing texts in half, because that’s still try hard.
Follow this rule: Two lines per text maximum (not a paragraph) and never double text
Secondly, stop with cheesy talk like: “you cuter than a teacup, trotting through the grass on a warm summer day, your sheer elegance and style is contagious”
What. The. Fuck. Is. That???!!
Dude you don’t even talk like this in real life when you are with your friends, so why the heck do you want to say this cheesy shit? You want the girl to laugh at you or something?
Dude, I know I sound like i’m attacking you, but seriously… It’s better that I warn you here now, than you going there and having the entire school making fun of you for being so cheesy.
You do know that girls share your texts with her female friends, right? They will all know what you text her, and that won’t be good trait me if they all realise how cheesy you are.
Oh wait, there is still more text? Apparently the huge wall of text before wasn’t enough.
“I send this message so fast i didn’t proof read”
Well then proof read it? There is no need to say that as it sounds validation seeking which is bad.
“we could maybe catch a sunset and munch on some sun chips together”
Again with the cheesy language. This is all horrible, it reads as if it was written by a 13 or 14 year old or less.
If that’s how old you are my bad sorry for being so mean, but honestly many guys that age wished someone would have told them how to make a fool of themselves in time.
If you are older than that or if you are an adult, then dude it’s about time to man up already.
Dude, a heterosexual guy is not supposed to be cute, a guy is supposed to be cool a badass or smooth… i’m talking about attitude.
Cuteness is a typical feminine trait, cute looks good on girls.
On a man you don’t wanna be cute, you wanna be a badass, cool, smooth or suave which are typical masculine traits.
There needs to be sexual polarity you don’t wanna act or sound feminine, this is why you come across as cheesy because you are trying to speak like a girl does, not like a guy does.
You need to be aware of your sexuality, and be in touch with your masculinity. Girls are in touch with their feminine energy , that’s why they try to be cute, and shy, and girly, etc… A guy is not supposed to do that unless he is gay.
If you are gay that’s fine, you can be feminine. I’m not judging. But if you are hetero then you need to be have masculine. Take examples from James Bond movies, Charlie Sheen in Two and a half men, Lucifer Morningstar in Lucifer, Fast and furious movies,…. etc Those are men, don’t try to be cute try to be cool like them.
Talk about being 100% clueless. You are trying to sound poetic and it just comes across as cheesy in the worst possible way. Dude, would you talk like this to your male friends? I doubt it. So don’t do it with girls because they are the first ones who will judge you hard if you speak so girly while trying to pick them up.
It’s much better to tease them, roast them and make fun of them playfully, than being cheesy. Better to say:
“Hey dork, let’s grab some ice cream on friday at 6pm… Wanna play some basketball and beat your ass”
Much better to keep it short like this no matter if she likes you or not, than writing all that huge cheesy wall of text that your mom or yourself wanted to say.
Damn you for making me write a novel to help you

Yeah I didn’t like the advice she gave it is cringe, sorry mom.
take advice from dad
looks for dad No dad
you don’t talk like this in real life
True
I know I sound like I’m attacking you,
It does but I appreciate the criticism to make myself better so keep it going.
Ok so I need to keep it short, I’m going to say the first part bc I wanted to congratulate her. Though should I just ask her out to somewhere?
[–]CompetitionFair7686 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, it looks now clear to me why you were talking in such a feminine way. It’s because you lack a male role model… My bad. So you seriously need to watch those shows or movies i mentioned before. Start with fast and furious movies.
The best thing you can say is the thing i said at the bottom.
Don’t try to be formal. Don’t try to act like you care so much about her success. Don’t try to act like a boyfriend.
Just tease her, better to tease her playfully about being a nerd, than acting like you are her proud boyfriend or her proud parent who wants to congratulate her.
Your attitude needs to be that of a guy who teases her, challenges her, messes with her, tries to trigger her, not the attitude of a guy who wants to position himself as a good caring boyfriend before you even kissed her or anything.
You go from teasing to flirting in person then from flirting you go for a kiss, then from kiss to sex, then from sex she asks you if you want to be her boyfriend. That’s the order. So don’t try to act like a boyfriend if you haven’t even kissed her or had sex with her first.

Oh alright I see what you’re saying. I appreciate the time and effort you’re putting in but I need a little more help.
not the attitude of a guy who wants to position himself as a good caring boyfriend before you even kissed her or anything
Ah you’re right this is the way I was acting bc I thought that is how it’s done
So then how should or what could I text her to get it started? Bc im not seeing her again bc we graduated hs and it’s summer time. I thought you have to get their number or snap. So I have her insta but not any of that do I ask her for that? Could you give me an example please?
[–]CompetitionFair7686 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Like i said, something like the text i wrote before in my first comment right at the bottom is enough. Example:
”Hey dork, I’m playing basketball on Friday at 6pm, and i feel like inviting you so i can beat your ass. If you beat me i’ll get you an ice cream.“
If she says no to it, you still maintain your dignity because it’s cool enough that it looks like you still will play basketball without her, even if she says no. And it ain’t super try hard, and cheesy like the things you wanted to say.

Oh I missed it alright I highly appreciate the time and effort you put into this thank you.

The "No Dad" thing is totally screwing you up here. Get involved with something where you're hanging with strong, good male role models. Go join a weightlifting group. Find a group that does those rough mudders. Start doing MMA. Do all three.
If you don't get something soon, you're going to get hammered in the dating scene. Women date men, not their cute younger brothers. And as much as your mother loves you, she can't teach you to act, talk, and think like a man. And she'll never be able to teach you how to seduce a woman. She's never done it before herself.
Go get male role models, bro.
That was a pickup line from a paid course.

It's 10x too long.
And some girls will find those compliments creepy.
Try make it short and sweet. eg
Hey [her name], it's xxx, let's grab some ice cream on thurstay 6 pm.
Maybe refer to some inside joke or nickname that u used during your initial interactions.

Thanks for your response,
Hey[her name], it’s xxx, let’s grab some ice cream on Thursday 6 pm.
The concern I have with saying that is I’m assuming that she likes me when I have no idea if she does.
How about I make it shorter by splitting it b4 saying “pinnacle of success.” And then wait a few minutes then send the other half. I think this bc I have no idea if she likes me, I do think she’s cute and also I suggest we do what I said above.

Assuming she likes you is part of what makes it good. You show that you are not afraid and that you are confident she likes you.
[–]McCdermit8453 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So assuming that she’s attracted to me will dictate if she would go out with me right? I’m new to this and this could possibly my first date ever at 19
[–]Lighthero34 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Assuming she likes you makes you seem confident, and confident is attractive.
Truth be told, my friend, I have no idea what the culture is at the school you go to. In most places, however, the stuff that you wrote out as examples are not necessary and may actually come across as goofy.
Further, the longer messages where you use very flowery language makes things seem very serious when it obviously isn't yet.
"Must have missed you the other day, why don't you and I catch up at [public place]?" is a lot less pressuring.
I like your romantic intentions but the execution is about two generations out of style. You woulda been a killer in the 50s though.
Find yourself a male role model as well, I'm still feeling the effects of not having a strong one.

Well if she doesn't like you its already a lost cause isn't it?
