Walk off, man. Ignore her and walk off, like you’re perfect strangers. Your memories of her are an alternate timeline, it happened to you but never happened between you - not after the break up. Same goes for her, it happened to her but you were never a part of her life. Y’know? Mutually.
Ignore her and walk on, you’ll be incredibly distracted otherwise. Pining over a lost love is like allowing a mosquito to chill out in your ear canal. It’s just going to annoy and distract you, might even irritate you.
Put on the blinders and walk.

never simp. NEVER EVER. Keep dignity and self-respect. Be courteous if you meet because being a dick is always petty, and in a sense is a form of letting her win and know how important she is to you still. Keep dignity first and foremost.

I'm sure being a good bloke and saying hi is not simping. I did suggest that you be courteous and what you described sounds fine. Just be a regular person. She's normal, your normal, and that's ok.

If you're trying to get her back, shoot your shot assertively, like you would with anyone else.
If/when you're ready to give up on the lost cause, treat her as you would any other distant acquaintance: "Hey, how's it going?" "Awesome, me too. Have a good one!"
Small talk is the art of having pleasant, unimportant conversations. It's nice when you can maintain a legit friendship with an ex, but mostly they end up in the small talk category.

Don't think of it as ignoring her. Just think/do about something else. And yes you dumped her. Then tried to get back with her which makes you look even needier. Trying to continue a relationship now makes you look goofy. 4 months maybe that's when you can "talk" to her. Don't ignore her just don't initiate anything.
