Not responding to messages does make many people upset and felt unwanted regardless of the reason behind it, so best shot is to state your reason on why you couldn't text (again), say a small sorry and wait. If he still doesn't talk then it's good you dodged a bullet cuz it would be the case everytime

I suspect that he felt you were pulling back when you took longer than usual to reply and the appropriate reaction for a man when this happens is for him to pull back as well, otherwise he will seem over eager/needy and you will loose interest. He will reply, when he does, don't escalate things by waiting just as long as he has, reply when you see it and it is convenient for you and the conversation will get back on track. He most likely doesn't want to loose you which is why he is waiting to reply.

Who knows what’s happening on his end. He could have lost interest, he might be busy, he might be playing games. None of that matters. What matters is your actions - just stay cool, don’t fight it. Anything else will smother it quickly.

Probably he got frustrated by your behaviour in the first place, also because it is soo early in your relationship he probably won't understand your reasons.

I guess you have to wait now, maybe you can double text him if you really care, this would improve his mood for sure and help him understand you had real issues. Next time this happens I suggest you to find 30 seconds to made a brief quick answer to his first message saying you are very busy and you will answer beck ASAP.

More on their emotional maturity than yours. Might want to see this as a red flag if there isn't a legitimate excuse to at least not responding. Silent treatment is cruel imo

Also hope you were truly busy and not just weighing pros/cons in your head whether to reach out or not

Just like you got busy and didn't have time to text, he can too. Don't panic.

People aren't always waiting by their phone or computer. Sometimes I leave my phone in my car or else the battery dies and people think I've dropped dead. Calm down.
