If she's given you anything to work with on her profile, then you should definitely use that rather than a generic opener. However, I will say that sadly tinder just doesn't get me the results it did in the past, no matter what opener I use. It's just a tool chicks use to harvest instagram followers now. This site is a lot better for hookups and my old tinder openers work A LOT better on there, simply because of the fact that people are actually looking to meet IRL.

The best advice is to look through their profile and think of a funny line. WORKS EVERY TIME!

I don't use Tinder anymore though. I tried out all of the other popular dating apps and I've had the most luck on Tinder and POF for dating and relationships and Adult Friend Finder has been the best for finding hookups.

If they choose the first one(usually they do), then you can create a fantasy of how you are going to marry and where you are going for honeymoon. Works great and breaks the ice if you do it with a fun vibe.

If she chooses second option you can intrododuce yourself and go on from there.

I have been on a few tinder dates got laid a couple of times and chatted to a heaps but just got bored with a lot of the girls because they are just there to chat and nothing else.

As you should know by now there is no such thing as the perfect opener for every situation. At the end of the day you have a few small photos of them to basically guess their personality and therefore try to workout something that will get them interested.

I have used openers all the way from "hey", a comment on something on their profile (dogs, football team etc...), I also just make random assumptions like you look like a beach bum, gardener or "You look like you have rhythm in your hips. when are we going dancing?".

Just for a laugh/bet with a friend i also used "why have we not had sex yet?" which is the line from the okcupid post the other day. I did it because he did not believe I would get a reply.(i did), also another favourite of my was "I love your dress my favorite color is Floral" she was wearing a floral dress.

I think best thing to open with is the first thing that comes into "YOUR" head when you see their photos.

The first thing you need to do is work out who is actually there to just chat and who will actually meet you.

I am a smart arse in real life so I keep the conversation really light hearted, funny and off the wall. I got a comment from a girl i went on a date with last Thursday night, it was her first tinder date and I asked why me and she said that I was different to everyone else she had chatted too most of them were boring and/or weird.

I have a few girl friends on it and the shit that guys say is so boring. I show them my conversations and they just laugh and cant believe i say half the stuff i do and then the girl actually gives me their number without me asking for it which really freak them out.

I try to get her phone number and a plan for a date within the first hour or so of starting the conversation any longer and you get caught in small talk and then you turn in to every other guys on there boring.

TL;DR say the first thing that comes into your head dont even think about it, dont waste time move on as soon as you feel things are stalling and you're not going to get her on a date.

I've been using tinder for a month and have been out with 3 different girls. I usually look through their profiles and photos to try to think of a witty statement to open with. If I can't think of anything then I will resort to "hey, how's it going?".

One thing I've noticed though: Each of the 3 girls I've been out with, I opened with a witty statement. With "Hey, how's it going?", even if they do send a response (probably something like "okay, how about you?"), it's basically no information learned and it is very difficult to progress with the conversation. Try to think of something which will give you a lot of potential jump points onto other topics and opportunities to keep the conversation flowing.

case specific opener for hot girls, something to do with their profile.

"sup babygirl/babymomma/sweetcheeks" copypasted for the ugly/average girls (I like every single girl on tinder to save time).

oh and "i think you just gave me yellow fever" for asian chicks.

edit: keep in mind I use tinder exclusively for booty calls. I have absolutely no intention of asking any of these girls on a date... besides inviting them over to watch a movie at my house. I'm sure if you actually asked them out to dinner/coffee/whatever you'd have a lot of success on tinder. my openers make it pretty clear i'm not looking for something serious.

"what's our first date... coffee drinks or movie?" (those three are interchangeable)

also look at something on her profile and make a "that girl" comment. IE "ah a marilyn monroe quote... so you're that type of girl" BOOM she instantly tries to justify herself. works practically every time as girls hate being called "that type of girl" for just about anything.

I usually make some remark to do with a profile pic, i.e. are you as good at____ as you look? is that really ____? or you could try a variant of an opinion opener (i.e. girlfriend), I saw that work once.

Once a girl I went on a Tinder date with showed me her messages inbox, and just like online dating the M:F ratio was ridiculously skewed. There were about 3 times as many guys just in her inbox as there were girls in the whole area. Openers were 90% expected, mostly 'hey' or 'how's it going' or 'sex?' (/to that effect). In fact I didn't see anything too out there, probably why I was the one sitting there with her!
