showing vulnerability is good for someone like brad pitt, that have so much people reacting to him that he have to show vulnerability to humanize himself, remember, girls need high value behavior and confort
For us mere mortals showing vulnerability does nothing but dry her panties to you
vulnerability is a gift that you show to people closer to you, your family, for your girl that you date for years, friends, not some random girl that you meet in the bar

Showing vulnerability is a “high value behavior”. It shows that you’re comfortable in your own skin and establishes trust. Someone who is secure and confident with who they are won’t feel the need to hide their vulnerability. Because if a girl rejects them they won’t take it personally. You don’t need to spill you’re guts on a first date. However, being honest about your intentions, current emotion, and thoughts goes a long way to showing confidence.

Him: "To be honest, I'm kind of lazy. I don't like my job, and I mostly just play videogames with my free time. I know that not every girl is cool with that, but I think it's a pretty cool lifestyle."
Victoria Secret model: "Wow, it's so refreshing to have a guy is so secure in himself."

Maybe try not being a total loser first
Maybe then vulnerability isn't the singular requirement after all, eh?

I think if you said that with confidence it would work with a lot of girls. Probably not Victoria secret models, but I don’t think most people expect to date lingerie models.

That's right

So in the natural state of things you seduce someone unknowingly. That’s not what one wants to do. One wants to aimmmmm to seduce. If you aim at something you work towards it idk

Showing vulnerability for intimacy and romance sure. But to be vulnerable to solely seduce is not the optimal way. That’s some nice guy bs and there are much better ways.
Seduction is the complete psychological surrender of the opposite party you are trying to seduce, and showing them your vulnerability is most often like showing them your cards. When they know what to expect, your sense/aura of mystery is gone and there is no tension left in that regard that makes her want to pursue you. You are feeding out of her hands at best if you choose to be vulnerable at the forefront and you are losing the capacity to influence her the more you give yourself away.

This info only works when they're already interested in you. It doesn't make them interested.

Depends on what you want to do. Trying to make someone interested in you is a dumb game. You're better off looking for people who are interested and going from there.

OP has probably watched a TED talk of Brené Brown or read Manson's "Models" for the first time and now thinks he has seen the light without actually having understood anything.

From woman perspective I partly disagree. In my opinion you should show vulnerability only after creating the image of a strong man. In these circumstances vulnerability is seen as something beautiful and innocent. At the beginning it is perceived as insecurity and despair. The main point of seduction is to be unpredictable in a natural way, you need to balance between kindness and violence

So there's a word I haven't used much, and it is 'cogent'. Think it fits here, well put :)

Another Mark Manson bullshit right there.

I saw it was Mark Manson stuff but why do you think it won't work? I'm conflicted, so I'm curious to know your thoughts.

Look MM has got popularity because he introduced the idea of "Brutal Honesty" in game and his hatred toward Pick Up Artists.
But guess what?
The more you hate something the more you think about it. And the more you think about it, the more chances you'll end up doing it.
The opposite of hatred isn't love. It's indifference. If he was MM was indifferent toward Pick Up Artist, it would be cool but the way he goes towards bashing against Pick Up artists shows he takes all these personally.
Also he is kind of cry baby who tries to be "honest" all the time, but again that's a weak strategy and I have reasons to back it up. But let's not even go there.

I don't really see where vunerability truly comes into play with the post. Like if sounds like honesty if anything, to both yourself and others. You have to be honest with yourself instead of deluding into a trap of lowering standards just to fill a void that comes from scarcity. And then you should be honest with others with your intentions. Like the friendzone exists is because people try to become friends as a way to sneak into potentially transitioning that into a relationship. And while that sometimes is how romantic relationships are formed, the difference is the people who are getting friendzoned are hiding their true intentions the whole time.
In terms of vunerability itself, I do think it is important is does play a role somewhere with honesty, but I wouldn't say that is the ONE thing most important about seduction

This outcome-independent stuff... needs more qualification. It's bandied about a lot online, but has anyone called out the emperor's new clothes? I wonder what you'd make of the following. Lets take it right back to the simplest foundations.
To come across as sexually outcome-independent, is one thing. Here there are skillsets - tactics, self-checks, and communication techniques to present that you are not bothered about having sex with her.
To actually be sexually outcome-independent, is quite another claim. In this scenario, you are actually not interested in having sex with her.
If a commercial seduction business can convince their customers that they should be independent of results, or any measurable improvement with women, then they have the perfect formula for financial success with zero accountability.

I have never before seen this being put so clearly.
