Most guys want to but don’t actually do it. Ask most decently attractive girls they’ll say they get creepers and cat calls all the time but not nearly as much cold approaches as I would’ve thought

Most stare . Of the 1% that are brave enough to show some intention, half catcall or are too aggressive or try to go the friend route. The other half are the creme de la creme.

I love the cold approach - ladies love it too. Make them laugh and they will ask you to join them for a drink. If the joke bombs look out!

I'm not sure that there have been any studies on the percent of people who do cold approaches. It's probably just a community wives' tale (if such a thing can exist in a community of PUAs).

Woman here.

In my day to day, most guys just stare. A handful will catcall or make aggressive sexual comments. And then a few will actually come up and talk to me politely.

At bars/clubs, way more men will approach and talk, but I think this is because it's not that odd to do that in those environments.
